Guernsey County Republican Club Monthly Minutes

  President: Robert Morris called the meeting to order.

Invocation was delivered by Larry Smith.

President Morris: led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Treasurer: Michael Segrest gave the Treasurers Report for May 2019 with the Membership Account Balance at $2007.59 and the Scholarship Account balance is at $2,552,64, the Total Balance is $4560.23, with the treasurer presented them for approval.

Public Relations Specialist: President Morris informed the members that Libby Bates has decided that she would like to remain as the Public Relations Specialist. President Morris asked for nominations from the floor, with none coming forward Sarah Blue nominated Libby Bates as the Public Relations Specialist, with a second by Ed Freeze. The motion passed unanimously.

Secretary: Sandra Miller made the April 16, 2019 meeting minutes available prior to the meeting by e-mail, on the back table and on the club website; she presented them for approval. The motion was moved by Tom Bates, seconded by Ed Freeze. The motion passed unanimously.

Elected Officials in attendance:  No Elected Officials was in attendance.

Sarah Blue informed the members know about a program that she is working on for the 7th graders throughout Guernsey County. It is the Leaders Edge Anti-Virus Youth Program Sarah has worked with the Business Leaders, Safety Recourses of Guernsey County and They have secured the funding the next two years.  This program is focused on developing positive life character, Ambition, Responsibility, Hard Work, Emotions, Restrain, Common Sense, and Generosity to those that complete the ten week program.

20th District State Senator Tim Schaffer and his wife Lori stopped by the meeting to give the members a little insight to his background and offer his support for anything that we need.

Executive Committee: No one is attendance.

President: Robert Morris informed the members that the Scholarship Committee has chosen Tyler A. Kline from Cambridge City School District as the winning candidate for the 2019 Guernsey County Republican Club Scholarship. Mr. Kline will be at the June 18, 2019 Monthly Meeting to read his essay and except his plaque and scholarship.

Vice President: Sheila Cochran introduced guest speakers Debbie Eltringham and Waynette Bridwell Ambassadors of Shared Hope International to discuss the warning signs for Human Trafficking. Both gave very interesting speeches and handed out literature to all members in attendance.

President Morris gave the benediction

President Morris adjourned the meeting.
