2017 Scholarship Award Meeting
Guernsey County Republican Club Meeting Minutes
7:04 PM – President Robert Morris called the meeting to order. Commissioner David Wilson delivered the invocation and President Morris led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Treasurer Nelson Roe then gave his report on the club finances and shared with the club some of the research that he had done about obtaining a laptop. He indicated that he would continue and have a proposal ready for the next full meeting.
Secretary Michael Segrest, having made the minutes available prior to the meeting, presented them for approval. Mrs. Heinton made the motion for approval and Count Prosecuting Attorney Joel Blue seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously at 7:18 PM.
Elected Officials and County Central Committee members in attendance were then invited to speak:
Mayor Tom Orr and City Auditor Sullen Johnson said planning was ongoing for the Reagan Day Picnic and the Central Committee was yet to have selected a speaker.
President Robert Morris then introduced this year’s scholarship recipient, Robert Moore. Mr. Moore is a Senior at Meadowbrook High School and worked hard to receive a number of scholarships from a number of different groups. After his reading, Mr. Moore was awarded $500 from the club. Mr. Moore also received a plaque denoting his accomplishment from Congressman Bill Johnson.
The meeting was closed and adjourned at 8:14 PM, at which time club members remained for some social time.
